U.S. Bars Use of Torture in Interrogations
The first paragraph:
The U.S. government told a U.N. watchdog Monday that all American officials — including intelligence agents — are barred from using torture in interrogating terror suspects and other prisoners.
The translation:
US law already forbids persons conducting interrogations to abuse prisoners or suspects, but we decided to make the headline sound like the US just banned torture an hour ago.
